Ask Ella

Why Dark Romance?

Because I’m a survivor, and survival sometimes comes with teeth. For me, dark romance is a way to make sense of the things that nearly broke me. It’s a space where pain can be rewritten to become power, and love doesn’t have to be clean to be real. I write stories that thrive in the liminal space between violence and healing, mirroring my own experiences with hunger and rage, and the messiness of hope. When things feel futile, or my triggers are too big to breathe around, I put my pen to the page and reclaim what was stolen from me.

Why Include Content Warnings?

The world can be a cruel place. Transparency is an act of care, and I want my readers to know I see and love them. Dark Romance can walk into dangerous places, some of which are extremely harmful to people who are on their healing journeys. My content warnings are never about limiting curiosity or spoiling plot points, but they are about giving safe space to readers who want to explore their trauma without fear of being blindsided by triggers.

Do Your Stories Have HEAs or HFN?

My characters find peace at the end of their stories, sometimes in surrender, and sometimes in fighting back, but the love they find looks nothing like what we’re taught it should. Happily Ever After is for fairy tales, but surviving this world is real.

Are You Releasing More Novels After Wicked Little Sins?

Wicked Little Sins is my anthology released for Halloween, and it is just the beginning of this journey. I have several full-length novels in development and I look forward to sharing them with you when they’re ready!
